Senator Information
The role and purpose of the senator seems to be the same. The senator is to choose other officers, and they have the power to impeach the president. I find that a very important role of the senator to do. They can only be in office for a certain time. If you want to contact a senator, go to the US Senate official website then click on the senators tab, then go to your state. I also find finding who your senator is very important. Let say you're against bullying and want to do something to stop it. You can contact your local senator and see if they could do something about it by passing a bill. Being a senator has a big role for each state.

Guest Speaker: Holly Richardson
Today in class we had guest speaker Holly Richardson. Holly writes a blog called Holly on the hill. She's an political activist. When she was talking to us about bills that have been passed and bills that people want to be passed. One in particular the class wouldn't want to stop talking about is gay marriage. I didn't say anything in class because that is a very sensitive subject. Though the bill won't get passed in Utah, I would like to share what I personally feel about this. But before I do, I did like it how Holly said "Politics will effect your life." I agree with that statement because with whatever we do in life their will be something political behind it.
Now, back to the topic of gay marriage. I don't agree with having the same gender getting married to each other. This is how I've been raised and what I believe. Marriage is a sacred union that is to be shared with only a male and a female. I believe that we were put on this earth is to get married to the opposite gender and to have kids.
I know that others will criticize me but that's what I believe in.
